Common questions

Do I have to register with the SLBFE?

Yes. Every Sri Lankan who goes abroad for work must register with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment before leaving. Lucky HR does this for you as part of the process.

Can I go on a visit visa and find a job there?

Do not do this. Workers who travel on a visit visa have no approved contract and no SLBFE registration, and the SLBFE warns against it.

When do I pay?

Ask our officers about the cost of the specific job before you agree to anything. Never pay anyone, at any agency, without an official receipt.

Who arranges the medical test?

We refer you to the medical centre that your destination country approves. For Qatar it is done at the Qatar Visa Centre in Colombo.
